Hydroxycut Recall
Hydroxycut, an extremely popular weight loss supplement, has been recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) due to reports of liver failure and related problems in people taking the supplement.
Manufactured and sold by Iovate Health Services, Hydroxycut is one of the most popular brands in the weight loss supplement market, selling over 9 million units each year. It is widely used by people looking to lose weight.
The FDA recalled Hydroxycut in response to 23 reports of liver problems, as well as one confirmed death due to liver failure. Symptoms of Hydroxycut poisoning include:
• Jaundice
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Liver damage
• Seizures
• Cardiovascular disorders
Hydroxycut products are advertised as natural supplements under both the Iovate and MuscleTech brand names. The FDA recall affects the following products:
