Attorney Profile
John Neese
John Neese is a native Houstonian and an experienced trial lawyer who has litigated a broad range of commercial and personal injury cases to successful verdict in state and federal courtrooms throughout the country.
After graduating from the Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas, Neese attended the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and graduated with honors. Prior to entering law school, he gained valuable “real world” experience as a mortgage banker and small business owner. Neese then went on to the University of Houston Law Center where he won numerous awards and honors for his top grades. He was also Chief Notes & Comments Editor of the Houston Law Review, and a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons. Neese worked while attending law school at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Ultimately, he graduated with summa cum laude honors, finishing 3rd in his class of 357 students.
Neese began his career with Vinson & Elkins LLP, a major Houston defense firm, where he tried cases involving issues of commercial, construction, personal injury and real estate law. After four years, he decided to devote his talents to representing personal injury victims. Neese was asked to join the well know plaintiffs’ personal injury boutique, Williams Kherkher Law Firm (formerly Williams Bailey). There, he represented seriously injured plaintiffs and families of those killed by the negligence of others. Recovering millions of dollars for his clients, Neese litigated against a broad array of defendants, including corporations, pharmaceutical manufacturers, insurance companies, transportation/trucking companies, bus companies, and oil companies, among others. For years, it has been typical to find Neese in trial somewhere in the country many months out of the year.
In 2007 and then again in 2008, Neese was honored by his peers as among the top 2.5% of Texas up-and-coming attorneys in Texas Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Edition and Texas Monthly. Also in 2008, he founded his own firm, The Neese Law Firm.
