Attorney D. John Neese, Jr.
John Neese, a native Houstonian and an experienced trial lawyer, is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has successfully handled a broad range of serious personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits in state and federal courtrooms throughout the country.
Education
After graduating from the Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas, John attended the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and graduated with honors. Prior to entering law school, he gained valuable “real world” experience as a small business owner.
John then went on to the University of Houston Law Center where he won awards and honors for his top grades. He was Chief Notes & Comments Editor of the Houston Law Review, and a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons. While attending law school, John worked at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Ultimately, he graduated with summa cum laude honors, finishing 3rd in his class of 357 students.
Experience
John began his career with Vinson & Elkins LLP, a major Houston defense firm, where he tried cases involving issues of commercial, construction, personal injury and real estate law. After four years, he decided to devote his talents to representing personal injury victims and families of those killed by the negligence of others. Recovering millions of dollars for his clients, John has litigated against a broad array of defendants, including corporations, pharmaceutical manufacturers, insurance companies, transportation/trucking companies, bus companies, and oil companies, among others.
Honors
John is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Only 2% of Texas attorneys are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law.
In 2007 and then again in 2008, John was honored by his peers as among the top 2.5% of Texas up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40 in Law & Politics Magazine's Texas Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Edition and Texas Monthly.
John is also a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for the Top Trial Lawyers in America.
